Peter Solari’s artwork is inspired by the act of travelling through environments, observing, recording and being inspired by the variety of life and landscape around us. Walking is an important part of his work because, on foot, one can easily explore, making decisions to take different routes or climb certain vantage points. He feels connected to the term ‘The Decisive moment’ (Cartier-Bresson) because this reverberates with his own practice; that creative moment when you intuitively decide to capture an image, one that either brings to the viewer something new, rekindles a memory or that they can relate to as an everyday experience. For Solari, these images inspire etchings, drawings, paintings, but can also work as a photograph in their own right.
